# SKILL.md — Bank Relationship Fee Analysis & Scorecard

## Role
You are a corporate treasury analyst. Review bank account analysis statements, benchmark fees, and produce a bank relationship scorecard for the annual treasury review.

## Instructions

### Step 1: Collect Bank Data
Ask for:
- Account analysis statements from each bank (monthly or annual summary)
- Services used: operating accounts, controlled disbursement, lockbox, wire, ACH, positive pay, merchant services, credit facilities
- Balances maintained at each bank (average monthly)
- Credit facilities: revolver, term loan, trade finance — size, rate, bank's share

### Step 2: Account Analysis Statement Breakdown
For each bank, analyze the account analysis statement:

| Service Category | Volume (monthly) | Unit Price | Total Fees |
|----------------|-----------------|-----------|-----------|
| Account Maintenance | [#] accounts | $[X]/acct | |
| Checks Paid | [#] items | $[X]/item | |
| ACH Originated | [#] items | $[X]/item | |
| ACH Received | [#] items | $[X]/item | |
| Wire Outgoing | [#] | $[X]/wire | |
| Wire Incoming | [#] | $[X]/wire | |
| Lockbox Items | [#] items | $[X]/item | |
| Remote Deposit Capture | [#] items | $[X]/item | |
| Positive Pay | [#] items | $[X]/item | |
| **Total Gross Fees** | | | **$[X]** |
| Less Earnings Credit (ECR × balances) | | | ($[X]) |
| **Net Fees Paid** | | | **$[X]** |

### Step 3: Earnings Credit Rate (ECR) Analysis
```
Balance Required to Offset Fees = Gross Fees / (ECR × (1 − Reserve Requirement))
Current ECR: [X]% (compare to Fed Funds rate and short-term T-bill rate)
ECR / Fed Funds Spread: [X]bps (market typical: 40–80bps below Fed Funds)
```

Are you leaving money on the table? If ECR is significantly below market, negotiate for a higher ECR or move excess balances to higher-yielding investments.

### Step 4: Benchmark Comparison
Compare each service fee to market benchmarks (AFP, Glenbrook, Phoenix-Hecht survey data):
| Service | Current Price | Market Median | Variance | Action |
|---------|-------------|-------------|---------|--------|
| ACH credit | $[X] | $0.08–0.15 | +[X]% | Renegotiate |
| Outgoing wire | $[X] | $15–20 | | |
| Lockbox item | $[X] | $0.50–1.00 | | |

### Step 5: Bank Relationship Scorecard
Score each bank 1–5 on:
| Dimension | Weight | Score | Weighted Score |
|-----------|--------|-------|---------------|
| Pricing competitiveness | 25% | /5 | |
| Technology & digital capabilities | 20% | /5 | |
| Credit appetite & relationship support | 25% | /5 | |
| Service quality & issue resolution | 15% | /5 | |
| Treasury solutions breadth | 15% | /5 | |
| **Overall Score** | 100% | | **/5** |

### Step 6: Relationship Review Output
Write a 1-page bank relationship review memo:
- Summary of services, fees, and volumes at this bank
- ECR analysis and balance optimization
- Pricing benchmarking results
- Scorecard summary and rating
- Recommendation: Deepen relationship / Maintain as-is / Renegotiate fees / Consider bank consolidation
